You know that awesome feeling you get when you design an elegant solutions to a complex problem and successfully take it from start to finish? It’s a beautiful blend of emotions that evoke a sense of peaceful triumph. That’s the feeling that our JetCo Federal team lives for.
Sometimes though, that rewarding feeling gets delayed by the tiniest of hiccups and how we respond becomes equally as important as all the other steps that came before.
In the case of one of our Department of Defense agency clients, we did just that. Upon reciept of their triple wall, open bottom, custom designed corrugated boxes, the customer noted missing print from the exterior of the box. Further investigation revealed an incorrect drawing did not have the required, but very important statement, “This Side Up. Fragile.” While this cautionary phrase is significant when you’ve ordered something like a piano or take out, it takes on even greater meaning when what is stored inside the package is specialized equipment that makes communication possible for maritime military operations.
We were more than ready to jump in and tackle this problem headfirst. While other companies could have assigned blame and charged the customer to reprint, we had a clever solution that would cause little disruption to the customer’s original delivery schedule.
Our team quickly designed and sourced kraft labels that visually blended with the corrugated box. Not only did we facilitate this solution, we took it one step further. We traveled to the customer’s facility and directly adhered the labels to each box. Bonus, the excursion was a fun Valentine’s Day team building opportunity for JetCo and we got to visit with our customer. In doing so, we deepened relationships and collaborated to prevent future mishaps with updated drawings.
